From The Independent: “US farming watchdog accuses Wal-Mart of mis-selling“:
Wal-Mart, the controversial retailing giant, is under investigation in the US over allegations it is trying to pass off non-organic foods as organic. It has been accused of using misleading labeling that is “tantamount to consumer fraud” by an organic farming watchdog, the Cornucopia Institute. The body has handed its complaints to the US Department of Agriculture.

haha, yeah…i saw this article (or one just like it). can this company do ANYTHING on the up-and-up? Wal-Mart spokespeople are considering it an isolated incident at some stores where signage was improperly placed.
Who goes to Wal-Mart to buy organic food? Who goes to Wal-Mart that even knows what organic food is?

“Kraft, Dole, and Dean Foods, lobbied to attach a rider to the 2006 Agricultural Appropriations Bill that would weaken the nation’s organic food standards by allowing certain synthetic food substances in the preparation, processing, and packaging of organic foods.”
This made me so angry that I just sent all of these companies the above quote (from your link Ty, along with telling them that they are criminals and that I will boycott their respective organizations and encourage others to do the same. Horizon Milk is part of Dean Foods along with a bunch of others. There could be a whole website dedicated to exposing these charlatans. No more Boca Burgers.
To adress the question “Who goes to Wal-Mart to buy organic foods?” Actually, millions of people. Wal-Mart is one of the, if not THE largest buyers of organics.
