THE PET PSYCHIC TALKS WITH JASMINE

Jasmine is looking for a new home. She is a four year old female cat. Here is what she has to say:
I never knew how much I loved the inside until I was here at this house. I wish that I could have a home that smells like freshly cut flowers. And a home that when ever my person is alone they sing inside their heart and sometimes they sing to me too. I use to be scared of people when they look at me. Now I realize that when people look at me they are just wondering why I am so scared.
I like people who read and sing. I like soft music and the sound of newspaper pages. I like fresh air. My person now can make her voice sound like many different people. I find that interesting and scary. I don’t need a lot of room. I like warm bedding. I love to sleep and I like the sound of plants moving in the breeze. I like to chase crickets at night. My people now don’t like me out at night because that’s when dangerous monsters hunt.
You can tell the people that might want me that I am still learning to trust. I use to think that trusting was foolish, something only ignorant naïve cats would do. Now I know that there are people I can trust with all my being. And that is a wonder. It is sort of like that hummingbird that found herself in the house by accident. I don’t know if you have ever studied a hummingbird in flight. They trust in their speed and in their ability to maneuver obstacles. What was amazing about this hummingbird is that she knew when to surrender, to be still and when to trust the right human to help her back outside. What my people didn’t see is that she came back to the window to peer in and say, “thank you for your kindness”.
I am trying to be brave like that hummingbird. I have come to love the humans I am living with now. I am extremely grateful for their care. I have healed in many ways. I believe that in the right situation, time and love heal even the most broken hearts. My heart is nearly mended.
Though there is a cat here that does not like me. She tries to accept me, but she is filled with jealousy. I have known her along time and have always admired her beauty. The longer I am here, the sadder and angrier she gets. I have become frightened of her. I do not hate her. I feel sorry for her. This home is truly her home and I have taken a piece of that away from her. I want my own home where everyone welcomes me. My life keeps getting better. I feel there must be someone else who would love me. I promise to be a compassionate loving companion.
-----------------------------------------------------------
After both of Jasmine's humans passed away she was abused by their nephew. She decided to run away. After six monthes of living outside she found herself at a celebrity's house in Ojai. This celebrity has taken care of her and now needs to find her a new home because her other cat would like to kill Jasmine. Jasmine comes with six monthes of food, a cat tree, litter box and medical expenses paid for.

Laura and Jasmine,
thank you for sharing your selves! as Gandhi said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated..."
i'm glad you're here to help us communicate better with our animals and become a more peaceful community in so doing!

welcome aboard, Laura! When it came time for our dog to pass on, your support and service was invaluable. Very glad you can share with a greater audience.

Uh...this is a joke right. This is a gag post isn't it? A pet psychic? It would be the height of narcissism if someone were actually purporting to read the minds of animals. It hasn't come to that has it?
Comment #3 Posted by: Anonymous | January 29, 2007 11:26 PM
Hey Anonymous - don't knock it 'til you try it. I believe you can take your pet in to see Laura one Sunday a month for free at Noah's Apothecary. Still doing that, Laura?

Isn't this a bit of a business ethics issue?
Charging money to tell someone else what an animal is thinking without there being any emperical way for any of us to know for sure if she can or can't read an animal's mind? Most forms of business have a system of checks and balances that make it ligitimate... a system tested by the masses.
That said, if people want to pay the pet psychic to tell them that their animal loves them, or maybe hates them... perhaps the last joke is on them...

Although I don't have a college degree in pet communication or telepathy, much like Laura, I consider myself close to an expert in the field. I've actually shared my home with a dog for a number of years. I've been communicating with him the entire time. When my dog, Baxter, feels hungry he has a way of looking at me and I put food in his dish. When he needs to poop or pee he sratches on the door. When he wants to talk philosophy he lays his head down on a Kant book that I keep on the living room floor. Laura, I'm not sure if you've gotten this deep with animals, but perhaps we should combine forces. It turns of Baxter is quite the existentialist! He tells me that he is constantly pondering his existance and whether or not it is ethical to pee on the roses bushes I have planted in the back yard. (This has been upsetting me lately so we haven't been communicating well lately) And just last week we were discussing how a dog really feels about being on a leash. I think this is a conversation all humans should have with their domesticated pets. Personally I'm thinking the going rate for a human/pet counciling session could be $70 per hour. Does this seem fair?

not to put animal psychiatry on the same controversy-level as abortion and gay marriage, but perhaps the logic is the same: if you don't like it, don't have it.
that said, i have never taken any of my animal friends to a psychic, and i'm no great champion of the art/business/practice. i'm simply intrigued by the unexpected (to me) backlash against Laura's craft.

I apologize for the typing errors in the above paragraph. Pet telepathy is a very cutting edge field and I get excited talking about it!

Pets Are Grand,
My dog scratches at the door sometimes. With your experience in the subject, could you please let me know what he's telling me?
Could you comp me on this one?
Comment #9 Posted by: another anonymous | January 30, 2007 03:17 PM
Did any of you animal communicators talk to that Akita during the O,J, trial?
Comment #10 Posted by: gimaha | January 30, 2007 05:13 PM
Well Another Anonymous, each domesticated pet is a unique individual. Your dog may be scratching at the door for any number of reasons. That being said, I would need to sit down and have a conference with your dog, preferably with you out of the room. Please contact me to set up an appointment. I do charge a nominal fee of $70 per hour, rest assured that your dog will get the opportunity to express his feeling and transcend this ridiculous genetic barrier of communication.

Pets Are Grand,
I can buy a large sack of kibble and a 12 pack for a price well under your hourly rate.
Thanks anyway.
Comment #12 Posted by: another anonymous | January 30, 2007 06:48 PM
I wonder if we could get a re-trial by bringing in some more hard evidence for the O.J. trial? Has the statute of limitations expired? If not, we should definitely persue that angle gimaha. Is the Akita still alive? If not, I'm sure we can get a telepathic expert to question it in doggy heaven. Get back to me on that one. Good thinking...

Another Anonymous, I respect your opinion but I am upset that you baulk at me, I'm simply offering a service your canine friend might benefit from. Perhaps your dog is upset about your drinking and that's why he scratches the door. Perhaps he's tried of being kicked in the ribs every time you come home from work. Its not his fault you leave shoes on the floor. Perhaps you should look at "another anonymous" group that helps you recover from your alcoholism.
Comment #14 Posted by: Pets Are Grand | January 30, 2007 07:49 PM
Wow, Pets Are Grand,
Quite defensive there. You jump to a lot of conclusions... How do you know I don't buy a 12 pack of canine bones, or a 12 pack of canine treats?
Where does this hostility come from?
Comment #15 Posted by: another anonymous | January 30, 2007 08:19 PM
I apoligize, another anonymous, I have let my sarcasm come across as hostility. I often forget that the internet is a difficult medium to display sentiment. Here's the bottom line. There is a good reason your dog scratches at the door. He's trying to communicate sentiments of his own. I understand that setting up a human/canine counciling session is not a common practice. In all honesty I recommend the following excersize to yourself or anyone else with a similar problem.
1. Identify the exact spot your dog is scratching.
2. Stand near the door and place your hand on the site.
3. With compassion in your heart, make eye contact with the dog and maintain it as long as possible. Communicate using no words, only your feelings. If he/she begins to sulk your point has been made. Follow up with some loving attention though.
4. You'll be suprised at the response. (and pleased with the price! hehe)
Best Wishes,
Pets Are Grand
P.S. Laura, please know that I don't mean to steal any thunder from you. You have a real gift when it comes to being telepathic with the animal kingdom. May all of our Supreme Being's creatures live in harmony.

I'm wondering if it's possible to hear what my former pets are thinking. Is there a pet spiritualist / psychic out there?
Comment #17 Posted by: Anonymous | January 31, 2007 12:36 PM
to pets are grand: You must be the real deal because another anonymous does sometimes kick his dog in the ribs but only when the dog starts snatching cookies off the counter...

Hi Laura-
I hope you've had some luck finding a home for Jasmine. Seems to me that what you're doing is making a living from your natural talents. If we could all be so lucky! I hope all the negativity on the Post around your chosen path ends soon.
Are you still offering your free consultations at Noah's? I'd love to bring my dog to see you. Our family often suffers with the same ailments she does...connected, indeed!

Another Anonymous, You mentioned that this might be a bit of a business ethics issue. Well if people are willing to pay to have a pet psychic talk to their animal that just goes along with the saying "a fool and their gold are soon parted" If the pet psychic can get away with this and it pays the bills why not! Maybe the pet psychic has insight into something!!!!!
Comment #20 Posted by: OLD CROW | February 1, 2007 01:21 PM
Wow, I am sorry I have not been on the post for a couple of days. I must admit all your comments have me giggling:)
Ok to answers every ones questions and to give a reply. First I must say, thank you to all my supporters. I truly appreciate it! And yes, I will be at Noah’s Apothecary this Saturday from 10-12. The readings are 15 min. long on donation to Marty Fast’s Pot Belly Pig Rescue. You must call Noah’s for an appointment 640.6900. I am there the first Saturday of every month.
To address the skeptics, I don’t blame you. It took me a while to truly believe that I can talk to animals. It took me years to weed out what the animals are actually saying, what I can assume from their behavior, and what my judgments about the situation might be. I know the feeling of when I am off or the feeling of when I am making an assumption. I have been speaking to animals for a long time and everyday it amazes me how clear and concise I get their thoughts and feelings. Skeptics who have turned believers say they needed to see the animals communicating with me in order to believe it. But I never try to turn you skeptics around. I have learned there are some people so set in their beliefs that my time is better spent elsewhere. Though I must admit I do sort of wonder why someone who makes such bold statements and judgments about ethics and personal character feels they have to hide behind the name “anonymous”. With such a strong belief system, I am surprised their true names are not in caps.
Gimaha and Kevin, I believe an animal communicator did talk to that dog and yes, animal communicators can talk to animals that have passed.
As I mention on my website, I have helped police solve crimes, veterinarians diagnoses illness and thousands of owners solve behavioral problems.
For the record, I abide by a strict code of ethics. I live by a truth that I feel confident and at peace with.
Thank you all for your comments and to Tyler for giving me this opportunity to be an author on The Ojai Post. It has already been lots of fun.

I wouldn't have thought that people in ojai would be so narrow minded angry and ignorant, 90% of life is believing, the rest is doing, peace comes through understanding, who would have thought people would be so closed off.
Comment #22 Posted by: kevin | February 2, 2007 09:56 PM
Actually, many of these people are not even from Ojai. This is actually a nonlocal reality experiment that has gone awry. its really a shame. Anyway, Welcome to the Hotel California.

I find it interesting that so many of us are so suspicious of Laura's wonderful ability of communicating with animals. It seems to me that we are all capable of much more than we give ourselves credit for and that we devalue the intuitive in ourselves and in others. Come on...anybody who has ever had a pet knows in his or her heart that you can tell when your pet is hungry, sad, angry, or wants to go for a walk! We all have the ability that Laura has, but we deny it in ourselves and in Laura, too. Why shouldn't we be able to communicate with other living things in this world, and not only animals. Have you ever talked to your plants?? I bet you know when they are thirsty! You know that because they are actually communicating their thirst to you. Amazing, isn't it? It's time for us all to own up to our God-given ability to communicate with all the things of the world. And thank you, Laura, for opening up a discussion that reminds us of that part of ourselves that isn't logical and rational, and that opens to the mystery and wonder in the world! Right on, Laura! You are performing an invaluable service not only to pet owners and their pets, but to everyone who reads this blog, too.

Actually I was born and raised in Ojai, how about yourself Mr Didj?
Comment #25 Posted by: OLD CROW | February 3, 2007 03:29 PM
I was just joking Old Crow, I have found this thread immensely entertaining and have attempted to add some nonlocal levity.
I was born in Prometheus' fire and arose in the ocean on a planet called earth.

Laura Stinchfield is truly an Angel. Her abilities are simply the next step in human consciouness commuication. We all have the abilitiy to communicate with the animal kingdom. First you have to learn to communicate with yourself, your higher self. The only thing stoping you non-believers is yourself. What happen to your child hood imagination? Laura holds the highest integrity. She is Blessed. Thank You Laura.
