VC Star: Firefighters save the day

by Tyler Suchman on October 3, 2006

Nice editorial in the Ventura County Star that mentions The Ojai Post… someone over there must have done a raindance.

It was predicted the fire, which started Labor Day, would be mostly contained Monday. A Saturday headline in The Star read, “It’ll take rain, snow to douse Day fire.” Then, as if on cue, rain arrived Sunday, further dampening the fifth-largest fire in California’s history. That meant about 2,100 weary firefighters headed home over the weekend.
