Old Ojai
This is a photo I scanned from our landlord, taken of the house we live in on Eucalyptus (click to enlarge). It was taken in 1924, the house only three years old at the time. It was probably a single-room house, no indoor bathroom and a wood-burning stove in the main room. Its now a three bedroom, with a garage, a second separate living unit and a big front porch.

The heritage of Ojai
is the biggest tourist draw next to
the small town quality of life. I have suggested to city council they take a lesson from Santa Paula on preserving
the architecture, charm
and uniqueness of
the downtown district
while highlighting
historical sights
which are quicky fading here...
