One Sweet Inn
Last night I had the privilege of staying at an Ojai treasure, Suite 1 Inn. This lovely little Inn has only one room, but what a room! Owned by Ojai artists Iris and Kirk Williams, the entire inn is a visual treat. The driveway leading to the wooden gate is cobbled and paved with swirls of stones. The walls are decked with original art work. But the absolute best part is the bathroom! A symphony, a cacophany of color and line!
On arrival, we pulled two chairs up to the handbuilt, mosaic-ed fountain and listened to the wind chimes. We opened a bottle of Malbec (a gift from Juanita Vega, House Mom at Weaver Wines in Ventura) and relaxed, a wonderful gift in my busy life. Later on, we walked to dinner at Exotic Thai. The evening had cooled off so we jumped into the hot tub.
In the morning, we brewed coffee (fresh ground from Java and Joe's) before heading back into our regular lives.
I believe that Iris and Kirk can help guests schedule massages in the suite and I imagine they will help anyone create a perfect, memorable stay.
Rates are comparable with the rest of Ojai, but what a unique experience! We were doubly lucky - we won our stay in a raffle through the Ojai Valley Chamber of Commerce!
