Censorship at the Ojai Valley News blog?

Perhaps you knew Ojai Valley News started a blog at the beginning of this year. There have only been six posts, but the blog administrator has engaged Ojai on some interesting questions, such as gangs, rural charm, the old bowling center and chain stores (addressing the latter two days after the story broke on The Ojai Post).

Ojai Post author Lisa Snider has contributed to a number of discussions on OVN's blog, but her posts, and hers alone, have been mysteriously deleted, leaving behind only a message: "This post has been removed by the blog administrator." Cached versions on Google, however, show that Lisa Snider was the original commenter. I know that at least one of her comments linked back to a story on The Ojai Post, and none of her comments was negative in any way to my knowledge.

So why is The Ojai Valley News censoring its blog? Are they threatened by outbound links to The Ojai Post? We're happy to link to them. Here, I'll do it again. That's the web. Censorship shouldn't be.

I was really excited when OVN started a blog. You know, it sorta hurt my feelings, though, when I got removed and they didn't say why. And I had been meaning to ask them about it, but didn't because I really like those folks a lot and didn't want to compromise the great relationship I have with them. I think it's awesome they are taking a stab at blogging though.

If retail stores, Spas, and restaurants in Ojai want to continue to pay their employees $7 or $8 dollars an hour....than they have to support low income housing that someone getting less than $1200 a month can afford. Do the math.
